Types of Foam
Reflex
Foam
Designed for their resilience and springiness, Reflex foams are the solution to most sitting and sleeping needs. These foams are of the highest quality and will last for many years of use.
There are many grades of Reflex foam, so please call us or use the information on this site if you need further guidance on your purchase.
V-Grade
Foam
V-grade foams offer a cost effective solution to less usage-intensive padding needs. They may not have the durability or lifespan of their Reflex counterparts, but they are more than capable of providing padding or comfort for head boards and other low-pressure furniture parts. They can also have applications in sound-proofing.
Memory
Foam
Memory foams are soft in their feel and are a great way to make a hard mattress more comfortable. Memory foams spring back into shape more slowly than Reflex foams, and a topper will allow you to sink into your mattress for a deep sleep.

Chip
Foams
Chip foams are made by compressing and bonding our off-cuts. This process creates an incredibly firm foam which is fantastic for pads which need to be thin and very firm. For example yoga mats or gym mats. Just 1″ of our chip foams is enough to take the shock out of impacts or help prevent damage to knees and elbows.
Packaging
Foam
Packaging foam is designed to be easy to cut and shape. It’s flexible but also sturdy, So it will grip delicate objects firmly, but have enough flex that they will be cushioned during transit.
Note: This is our only non-fire-retardant foam.
Cot
Foam
Foam does not give off any dangerous chemicals, but Cot Foam ensures absolute peace of mind by being specially processed to remove even the faintest odours and created with plenty of airflow to allow maximum breathe-ability. Because when it comes to your child we only want to be safer than safe.

While all our foam ranges are inherently safe, our cot foam goes one step further, and is free from chemicals such as arsenic, barium, antimony, and phosphorus. The result is a safe foam for infants that maximises airflow, ensuring a safe, comfortable sleep.

Replacing or Renewing Your Sofa Cushions
If your sofa cushions are sad and sagging, or if they’re too hard, then allow us to make them better than new for you.
The process
If you wish to order your sofa or chair cushion replacements online then this guide will help you get the measurements and foam type correct. Alternatively if you live within reasonable distance you are very much welcome to come in to our retail store where we will be more than happy to help, or call us and we can sort things out over the phone.
1. Measure from seam to seam
Left to right...
Front to back...
and the gusset
2. Choose the appearance of your cushion
Your sofa is the centrepiece of your lounge. Almost as important as how it feels is how it looks.
When replacing the inserts you have the opportunity to make sure your cushions match the aesthetic of your sofa.
Largely, the look of a sofa will fall into one of two main categories: Those that look plump, rounded, and comfy, and those that look sleek, neat, and professional.
We achieve these looks by using or omitting varying degrees of polyester wrap.
Flat
Dome-Wrapped
Not sure which to choose?
Generally if you’re coming from a loose-fill (for example, feather or polyester) then it is best to choose for your new cushions to be Dome-Wrapped, as this will renew and maintain the way the cushions looked when the sofa was new.
If your cushions were flat then they likely had foam in them, which has just deteriorated over time. No wrapping is needed, but in this case you should add 1″ (2.5 cm) to your gusset measurement. This ensures your cover is filled properly.
3. Choose your foam
There are lots of options available, but only a few that are suitable for cushioning which makes things much easier:
Base cushion foams
R400 (soft)
The R400 is recommended when coming from loose fill, such as feathers or polyester. Typically used for thicker cushions 5″ (12.5cm) and above.
R500 (medium)
Extremely long lasting and comfortable, the R500 is our most popular seating foam. Recommended for cushions with a thickness of 4-6″ (10-15cm).
R650 (firm)
Our firmest foams, the R650 is perfect for when you want both comfort and support – The R650 shines as a firm option in sofa and chair seating and is a forerunner for orthopaedic seating.
R450 (specialist)
A firm orthopaedic foam, the R450 is used primarily for camper and boat cushioning, typically at a 4″ (10cm) thickness. It’s firm enough that it can be knelt on and still keeps you off anything solid underneath.
Back cushion foams
SuperSoft
Back cushions experience much lower amounts of pressure, and as such need to be much softer to allow that comfortable feeling that is felt when a cushion gives way. SuperSoft accomplishes this perfectly.
R300
Slightly firmer than the Supersoft, the R300 is primarily used for thinner back cushions, normally around 2″ (5cm) or so. It also works perfectly for garden cushions!
