Anything else I need to know before ordering foam?

Foam Measurements

To order foam, we will need to make sure that we have clear measurements of the length, width and height. The price will be calculated using the largest points on the piece of foam. Please see our online foam calculator for the selection of shapes that we do.

Sofa & Chair Cushions

Foam cushions are a great way to give that old sunken sofa a new lease of life! As reflex foams keep springing back, you’ll never find that you will need to ‘plump’ your cushions back up again. Our specialised reflex foams come in five different qualities which can suit a variety of different needs.

Measurement between the arms

If you would like new sofa cushions, we always recommend getting the measurement between the arms for us. This then lets us know what size we cannot exceed when creating the cushions. This is important because if the cushions are a little too large, then they may ‘stick up’ in the middle which can be unsightly and uncomfortable.

Domed Cushions

In order to get your cushions looking plump and inviting, we have developed a special kind of polyester layering that emulates the fibre filling. This can be done with any of our cushioning foams.

The image here shows our domed cushion on the left and a normal flat cushion on the right.

How to accurately measure a cushion

In order to get a measurement of a cushion, we follow a certain protocol to get the measurement as accurate as possible. The steps below show this procedure so you know the exact measurements to put into our calculator or order form.

Step 1

We recommend that you take the measurement of the cushion with the filling still inside as this makes the process a lot easier. However, if it has completely collapsed you may need to remove it first.

Step 2

Measure the length and width of the cushion from seam to seam.

Step 3

To get the thickness, measure from seam to seam then add another inch (2.5cm). This will give your cushions a ‘fuller’ look and reduce wrinkling.
